Let's be honest: luck's probably got nothin' to do with it. However, I've had quite my fair share of extremes in the luck department during the last few weeks. And I mean extremes.

Good Luck:
I won a blog giveaway.Not just one, actually.Not even two.But THREE.
I don't go around entering giveaways that frequently. Actually...hardly ever. They typically involve a whole series of entries for Facebooking and Tweeting and Pinning and Hearting and all the other Gerund-ings about the giveaway, and it drives me crazy. But when my two most favorite creative artsy blogs offered giveaways where the entry was a simple comment? No brainer. I typically comment on their incredibly talented posts anyway.
Lo & behold... it paid off! I won the letterLAB giveaway by Lori Vliegen at Elvie Studio:

and now have full access to an online class (a $40 value!) that teaches this gorgeous cursive handwriting. So pumped about everything I'm learning :)
(ps: check out Lori's post from today -- her Pottery Barn-inspired art journal is amazinggg!)

I also won the rubber stamp pack giveaway by Stephanie Ackerman at Homegrown Hospitality. Stephanie designs the most adorable stamps & just released a bunch of new ones in time for Thanksgiving/Christmas!

THEN, in honor of the Marine Corps' birthday, another blog had a week long celebration/link-up. My USMC birthday post was completely independent of the "birthday bash," but once I discovered it, I linked up... and won a nametape bracelet :)
I'm telling you: so much good luck.
Until...

Bad Luck:
I got food poisoning last week.It was absolutely disgusting.I'm talking completely-unable-to-get-out-of-bed, thank-God-for-trashcans disgusting.(I'll spare you the rest of the details -- you're welcome.)
Then, since my immune system fought so hard to get rid of the food poisoning, it decided to take a vacation. As in... stop functioning completely.I have been permanently stuffy/achy/bleh-feeling ever since.

Good Luck:
I received a gift card for my birthday that I just used to finally purchase my own set of micron pens!
(Aren't they the prettiest things you've ever seen?)

I got six black ones, with tips varying from .2mm to .5mm, & I'm feeling totally inspired to be creative.
(some yet-to-be-posted creativity from the past few months...)

Goodness, I love brand new art pens.
And my brand new (on their way) stamps.
And brand new crafty ideas...

Bad Luck:
Last night, I compiled together all of my syllabi & and realized that between all of my classes, I have FIFTEEN papers left to write before the end of the semester. This is not a joke. Fifteen. 15. A one and a five. Reflection papers, research papers, journalism papers, I hate my life papers...
Sadly, that means no time for fun with micron pens. Or fun with anything, period.Just lots and lots and lots of writing.
Womp.

Good Luck:
(I had to end it on a positive note.)
Laura & I went out for Cookout a few nights ago, and they completely messed up our order.
BUT they fixed everything AND let us keep all of the food they gave us by mistake.
A hamburger, fries, a corndog, a mustard relish hotdog, chicken strips, 2 sides of chicken nuggets, hushpuppies, a cappuccino milkshake & a mint oreo milkshake... all for $11.00. I cannot remember the last time I laughed so hard :)
